On August 23, 2020, Jacob Due south. After an initial scuffle, Blake walked to the driver'south side of his girlfriend'due south rented vehicle, followed by officeholder Rusten Sheskey and another officer with handguns drawn. Protests followed, leading Kenosha County to declare a state of emergency overnight on August 24 after constabulary vehicles were damaged, a dump truck set on fire, and the local courthouse vandalized.
